Today…marks the final 7 days before the big Eid-ul Mubarak which actually marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadhan. It is a very big day for all the Muslims around the world. It is the day of victory that we fought our way through hunger and gaining a new level of patience and discipline. Actually there are many reasons why people fast. It was not a misinterpretation, but when it comes to different cultures, each have different reasons and philosophy towards fasting. It can be the influence of helping the needy, the poor, and the orphans (to me thats the only reason I have been told), other than that depends on other status and influences from different cultures but still based on Islamic philosophies and values.
Malaysians already started or already packed to move back to their hometown. There are less cars on the road since Monday. Seems like almost 30% of KL folks are gone back home or else there would be a traffic update and congestion somewhere on my way home from work (in KL). To me it still too early. But yet again, over the past 10 years, getting a bus ride home is like a huge hassle here. So everybody had to either go home one week earlier (by car) or buy (a bus or train) ticket one month earlier or stay back and wait till the big day and THEN you start walking/riding/whatever. This whole event is called “the Balik Kampung” season (means going back to hometown in Malay).
All Malaysians do this every year, not just the Malays/Muslims but everybody the Chinese, Indians, and others… The energy and spirit of this event is incredible (out of ideas of words to describe the huge feeling of this whole event whereas I’ve celebrated this festive season since I started to know how to walk).

Friday prayers (fasting month) Masjid Jamek, it was a hot day, and those who got there late or didn't get to the rooftop area will definitely feel the scorching heat. I was late too so had to stay behind a big pillar for shade plus i get this view to capture.
I thought I could capture some moments of events during working hours of the fasting month for the album for my blog. Who knows I might not be able to capture any next year or the year after that. Since i started working at a company based right in the center of the capital of Malaysia, I get the chance to perform Friday prayers at one of the oldest mosque in the country, Masjid Jamek. I never thought in my life I would step foot into this place ever. To me this place was like a moon (which I’d never thought of stepping foot on it if I were to go from my house or work). I’m so grateful for that, Thank you God.
The architecture of this mosque, I mean the age is pretty old, but the restoration made it look new and wider. I didn’t manage to bring my DSLR with me to capture the whole building, coz it would be too flashy to bring during prayers…hahaha. It would’ve been a great 17mm and 85mm subject to shoot.

Before I end this post, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the Malaysians and Muslims around the world:: Happy Eid-ul Mubarak and Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin!!!!
