Writing notes and studied videography from a book authored by Herbert Zettl of San Francisco State University.  A Professor emeritus of the Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts department of SFSU.  The book is excellent filled with easy-to-understand terms, terms used in photography, terms i’ve never heard before oftenly used in both photography and videography, plus cinematography and terms which are useful to get started in video business.  A lot of things included in the book are terms that we used daily like HDTV, HDV, high definition 720p, 1080i, and other sorts that relates to picture format and high definition television.  I never knew video had so much similarity with photography, hence many photographers I knew migrated to being film/movie producers and directors.   I think with that much interest in videography, I might turn out to be a director sooner or later…hahaha…who knows!~

Teamwork and sacrifice

Just watched a movie on Cinemax (via local satellite TV Astro) called Sahara. Starring James Belushi as a World War II American tank sergeant. A tank sergeant who got lost in the Saharan desert along with his crew of 2, and few tag along soldiers from different allied battalions from different countries fighting the same enemy, the Nazis. The tag along soldiers were a French, an Australian, Scottish, British, a Spaniard and a native African who joined the British Allied troops. They all got lost together finding their way out of the treacherous desert. Despite the war, their only enemy at that moment was the desert itself, while the German soldiers too were fighting their way through to find and kill the American tank team.

The best part of the story was that both sides (the Germans and the American-Allied tank team) were chasing after the same goal, water. The American tank team comprises of English-speaking soldiers from different regions had to team up and fight for what’s theirs. Before that they found the water they were told about. A water-well hidden in the desert.

The story was really complicated to tell word by word. But its worth time watching it. Something to learn about teamwork and sacrifice for whats yours and your teammates in order to win and defend. Regardless of who you are, who your teammates are, background and etc.
